TSC Wildcats - GotSoccer 9th ranked team in State

2010 SCS Waterfront Champs, 2010 Romeo Peachfest Champs, 2010 Michigan State Premier 1 Champs

Picture from the last game and our last picture as a team. This Fall, the team won the St. Clair Shores tournament, winning all four games and beating the "home team" Lady Scorpions in the Championship game. They then won the Romeo Peachfest for the 2nd year in a row, winning all four games and defeating  the Royal Oak Sparx in the Championship game. The Wildcats then played in Michigan State Premier Division 1 for the 1st time and won the division (5-3-0, 18 GF and 9 GA) with wins over the Hartland Eagles, Livonia Meteors, TNT Dynamite, Vardar, and Michigan Hawks! All that after replacing half the team at the last tryout due to graduations!  Sally Zimmerman, Maggie Leone, and Sarah Stanczak played all 10 seasons for the team, and Haley Svrcina played 9 seasons after joining us at U10. (Kelsey Miller, Kristen Kenny, and Kathryn Knauss played 9 seasons until they graduated last year.) Emily Papandrea stayed with us as trainer and coach all the way even though she had 2 babies in the last 3 years.

(4-0-0  13GF - 2GA)

Congratulations to the U17 TSC Wildcats for earning MSYSA Soccer Spotlight Team of the Month honors for October 2009! This fall 2009 season is the final club season for many of these girls. There are seven seniors on the team ready to graduate! Most of the players have been on the team for several years, including 6 players who were on the original U9 team. The team are proud champions from the 2009 Romeo Peachfest tournament, and they look forward to having an equally successful fall season.

Kathryn Knauss has signed a Letter of Intent to play for the Ave Maria University Women's Soccer Team next season.

Knauss, who will help solidy the Lady Gyrene defense next year, comes to Ave Maria with much success at the high school level. She has played left defense and sweeper for the eleven years she has been playing the sport. While in high school, Knauss played for two teams; the Troy Soccer Club Wildcats and Summit, a home school sports academy. At the National Home School Championship in 2009, Knauss received a Division I All-Star Award. She was also named team captain for Summit in 2009.

AMU is excited to announce her signing and looks forward to having her on campus. Kathryn's character and athleticism make for a great addition to the Lady Gyrenes' soccer program.
